Tour     About     Booking

Delivering toe-tappin’, soul-liftin’ Bluegrass Gospel music, The Mulkins Family from Pawnee, Illinois is spreading hope, joy, and a whole lot of family charm. With banjos, fiddles, and a 45-ft RV full of kids, this energetic crew of twelve (yep—twelve!) travels the country sharing the Good News of Jesus at churches, festivals, and anywhere the Lord opens a door.

Rick and Cindy Mulkins never imagined music ministry would become part of their family’s story. But God had a different plan. During a visit to a church in Highland, Arkansas, they watched a singing family take the stage—and something stirred in Cindy’s heart. After the service, the mother from that group noticed the long row of Mulkins children and asked, “Do your kids sing or play instruments?” Cindy laughed and replied, “No ma’am… we don’t know anything about music.”

The woman smiled kindly and encouraged her, sharing how much joy it would bring to the Lord, to their home, and to all who heard them.

What she didn’t know was that Cindy had been praying a very specific prayer: “Lord, You’ve given us all these children. Please show us something we can do together to glorify You.”

That day, her quiet prayer was answered.

When Cindy told Rick what happened, he chuckled and said, “Well, it’ll have to be an act of God—we don’t know a thing about singing or playing.” But he prayed. And God did what only He can do.

A spark was lit.
Instruments were picked up.
Voices found harmony.
The living room became a little sanctuary.
And slowly… something beautiful began to grow.

Today, Rick and Cindy travel with their children—Ruby, Isaac, Noah, Grace, Hazel, Jacob, Caleb, Ezra, Esther, and Pearl. Cindy and five of the children currently sing and play on stage, though the lineup is always changing as the younger ones eagerly learn their instruments. Rick jokes that he doesn’t sing because he “can’t carry a tune—only the sound equipment,” but anyone who hears him share an encouraging word knows he brings wisdom, passion, and a whole lot of heart to every service.

Cindy keeps each concert—and each kid—running with grace, warmth, and her educator’s touch. The children are quickly growing in their musical gifts, delighting audiences with a blend of charm and talent. And when they’re not singing, they’re busy homeschooling, homesteading, and tackling the never-ending list of family projects.

Their prayer is that every note played and every word spoken draws someone closer to the Savior.
